Since 1998, the country's demand for cocoa has decreased by 10.8% each year. In 2021, Algeria was the 36th-largest importer of cocoa, with New Zealand leading the way at 1.37 million kilograms. The United States, Malaysia and Germany ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
