Key Market Indicators
Cocoa production in Ivory Coast is expected to rise by 2.1% year on year over the next five years, reaching 2.6 million metric tons by 2026. This increase will make the country the world's largest producer of cocoa, outstripping its closest rival, Ghana. Since 1966, cocoa production in the country has seen an average annual growth of 7.1%. On the other hand, cocoa imports to Ivory Coast are predicted to fall 3.5% year on year to 162.9 kilograms by 2026. This is a sharp decline from the 201 kilograms imported in 2021, with Cyprus coming in ahead at the same amount. The US, Malaysia, and Germany are the top three importers of cocoa into the country, in that order. Since 2000, imports have decreased by 6.9% year on year.
