Cocoa production in the Philippines is expected to rise to almost 10,000 metric tons by 2026. The country has seen an average growth of 2% year on year since 1966. In 2021, it ranked 24th in the world, with 8,770 metric tons, behind Madagascar with 8,770 metric tons. Ghana, Indonesia and Nigeria were in the top four for this ranking. In 2021, imports of cocoa to the Philippines fell to 222,660 kilograms from 327,300 kilograms in 2020, a drop of 32% from the previous year. Since 2001, demand has dropped by almost 19% annually. This placed the Philippines at 45th in the world. Argentina overtook them with 222,660 kilograms, with the United States, Malaysia and Germany in second, third and fourth place.
