Thai cocoa production dropped by nearly 43% in 2021 compared to 2020, to 37 metric tons. This marks a 21% decrease since 1985. The country came in 51st place in the world rankings, with Belize ahead at 37 metric tons. Ghana, Indonesia and Nigeria took the top three spots in the rankings. Thai cocoa imports skyrocketed in 2018, to 290,020 kilograms from 885.38 kilograms in 2017, a 32,660% increase from the previous year. Since 1995, demand has decreased by 56%. The country ranked 44th in the world, with Uganda taking the lead at 290,020 kilograms. The United States, Malaysia and Germany respectively held the second, third, and fourth spots.
