Lebanese cocoa imports skyrocketed by more than 100 percent in 2018, jumping to 863 kilograms from 430 kilograms the year before. This marked a sharp decrease since 2002, when imports were 49 percent lower than the previous year. In 2018, Lebanon ranked 83rd in cocoa imports, with Tanzania overtaking the country at 863 kilograms. The United States, Malaysia and Germany took the top three spots, respectively.
