Peru is set to see a 3% year-on-year growth in insulin imports between 2021 and 2026, with 57,490 kilograms forecasted by the end of the period. Since 1997, the country has seen a 6% year-on-year rise in demand. In 2021, it was ranked 66th, behind Azerbaijan which held 47,770 kilograms. France, Germany and the United Kingdom came in second, third and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Peruvian insulin exports dropped 23.1% from 26 kilograms in 2017 to just 20 kilograms in 2018. Since 2001, this figure has decreased by 51.4%. In 2018, Peru was ranked 56th, behind Uruguay with 20 kilograms. India, Italy and Germany were second, third and fourth respectively.
