Demand for British insulin is set to reach almost 2.3 million kilograms by 2026, growing 2% each year since 2021, according to a new report. This is an 8.1% increase since 1998. In 2021, the UK was the fourth largest importer of the drug, with 2.03 million kilograms. Germany was second with France and the UK third and fourth respectively. Supply of British insulin is also expected to rise 2.7% each year until 2026, reaching nearly 342,000 kilograms by then. This is a 9.8% increase since 1998. In 2021, the UK was the tenth largest exporter of the drug, with 293,900 kilograms. India, Italy and Germany were second, third and fourth respectively.
