Exports of insulin from India are expected to reach 6 million kilograms by 2026, a 1.7% year-on-year increase from 5.3 million kilograms in 2021. Since 2001, the supply of Indian insulin has decreased by 1.8% year-on-year. India was the second biggest producer of insulin in 2021, with France topping the list at 5.3 million kilograms. India, Italy and Germany ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Imports of insulin to India are predicted to reach 152,000 kilograms by 2026, a 3.7% year-on-year increase from 122,000 kilograms in 2021. Since 2001, the demand for Indian insulin has gone up by 16.8% year-on-year. India was the forty-fourth biggest importer of insulin in 2021, with Panama coming in at the top with 122,000 kilograms. France, Germany and the United Kingdom were second, third and fourth in the ranking.
