Kazakhstan is set to experience an increase in insulin imports over the next five years. According to the latest figures, the import of the drug is expected to grow 3.3% year-on-year, reaching 165,000 kilograms by 2026. Since 2006, the country has seen an 11.1% increase in demand. In 2021, Kazakhstan came in at number 40 with 134,100 kilograms, while Ireland was the top importer with the same amount. France, Germany and the United Kingdom ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. In 2018, Kazakhstan ranked 60th with 0.17 kilograms, with Switzerland taking the top spot. India, Italy and Germany followed in the second, third and fourth positions.
