In 2021, the country ranked 38th in the world, while Slovakia came in ahead with 139,120 kilograms. France, Germany, and the United Kingdom followed respectively as the second, third, and fourth highest importers. Austrian insulin exports, however, decreased 57.8% in 2018 to 2,270 kilograms, down from 5,370 kilograms the year prior. Since 1999, the country's supply has risen 24.5% annually. In 2018, Austria ranked 38th in the world, while Morocco was the highest exporter with 2,270 kilograms. India, Italy, and Germany followed respectively as the second, third, and fourth biggest suppliers.
