Demand for insulin in the Netherlands is set to increase by 1.5% on average each year until 2026. In 2021, the country was ranked 21st worldwide with 601,570 kilograms of imported insulin - behind Saudi Arabia in first place. France, Germany and the UK followed respectively in second, third and fourth place. In 2018, Dutch insulin exports fell to 6,440 kilograms - a decrease of 29% compared to 2017. Since 1997, the country's supply has decreased by 43.8% annually. In 2018, Bulgaria took the lead with 6,440 kilograms, while India, Italy and Germany followed in second, third and fourth place.
