Austria overtook Kenya as the world's 36th largest importer of ethylene in 2018 with imports of 1,500 kg. South Korea, the UK and Japan respectively ranked numbers 2, 3 and 4 in this ranking. Kenyan imports of ethylene rose 56.2% in 2018 compared to the previous year, reaching 9,360 kg. However, this was still a 25.5% decrease on 1997 levels. Ethiopia overtook Kenya as the world's 52nd largest importer of ethylene in 2018 with imports of 9,360 kg. China, Indonesia and Germany respectively ranked numbers 2, 3 and 4 in this ranking.
