This indicates a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.2%. Since 2004, the country's geothermal supply has seen an average annual increase of 1.5%. In 2023, Romania also held the ninth spot in geothermal energy generation, with Croatia again ahead at approximately 498 gigawatt-hours. Iceland, France, and Germany took the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively, in this category as well.
