Colombian butter consumption is predicted to dip slightly over the next five years, with 18.1 thousand metric tons forecast by 2026. Since 2017, the demand has remained relatively stable. Colombia was the 44th largest consumer in 2021, behind Indonesia which consumed 19 thousand metric tons. Germany, France, and Russia came in second, third, and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Colombian butter production is set to rise slightly over the same period, reaching 24,190 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, the supply has grown by an average of 2.2% each year. Mexico was the 34th largest producer in 2021, producing 23,170 metric tons. New Zealand, Germany, and France followed in second, third, and fourth, respectively.
