Cuba's butter consumption is set to reach nearly 1.9 million metric tons by 2026, down 1% from the 2 million metric tons consumed in 2021. Demand has remained stable since 2017, and the country ranked 88th in 2021. Sri Lanka overtook Cuba with 2 million metric tons. Germany, France, and Russia followed with the second, third, and fourth highest consumption levels. Production of butter in Cuba fell 12.8% in 2021, from 426.55 metric tons to 372 metric tons. This is the lowest it has been since 1966, when a 14.9% decline was seen from the previous year. Cuba was the 100th largest producer in 2021, with Montenegro overtaking it with 372 metric tons. New Zealand, Germany, and France followed with the second, third, and fourth highest production levels.
