Consumption of butter in Iran is projected to decline by 1.5% year on year to 176.6 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a 1.7% decrease in demand from 2017-2021. In 2021, China was the largest consumer of butter, with 193 thousand metric tons. Germany, France, and Russia followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. Meanwhile, Iranian butter production is forecast to increase by 0.7% year on year to 188.1 thousand metric tons by 2026. This follows a 2.7% rise in supply from 1966-2021. In 2021, Ireland was the largest producer of butter, with 180.4 thousand metric tons. New Zealand, Germany, and France followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
