Peruvian wheat consumption is on the rise and is expected to hit 1.8 million metric tons by 2026. This is a 0.4% increase year-on-year on average since 2017. In 2021, Peru was the 40th largest consumer of wheat, being overtaken by Azerbaijan which consumed 1.8 million metric tons. India, the United States and Pakistan were the largest consumers in 2021, coming in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. In contrast, Peruvian wheat production is predicted to fall by 0.3% year-on-year CAGR from 190,260 metric tons in 2021 to 186,470 metric tons by 2026. This is a decrease of 0.1% year-on-year since 1966. Peru was the 70th largest producer of wheat in 2021, being overtaken by Albania which produced 190,260 metric tons. India, Russia and the United States were the largest producers in 2021, coming in at 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively.
