In 2021, Italy ranked tenth in the world, behind Indonesia and ahead of the United Kingdom. India, the United States and Pakistan ranked second, third and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Italy's wheat production is forecasted to decrease by 0.7% annually over the same period, falling from 6.7 million metric tons in 2021 to 6.5 million metric tons in 2026. Since 1966, Italian wheat production has decreased by 3.5% per year. In 2021, Egypt was the top producer, followed by India, Russia and the United States.
