Guatemala's wheat consumption is set to rise by approximately 75,000 metric tons by 2026, according to recent figures. In 2021, the country consumed 691,000 metric tons of wheat, up 1.5% from 2017. Senegal ranked higher in 2021, with 691,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Pakistan followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively. In 2019, Guatemala's wheat production saw a sharp decline, falling to 330,000 metric tons from 464,000 metric tons in 2018. This marks a 28.9% decrease compared to 2018. Since 1966, the country's wheat production has decreased by 27.7%. Botswana ranked ahead of Guatemala in 2019 with 330,000 metric tons. India, Russia, and the United States followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
