Ukrainian wheat consumption is set to reach 5.2 million metric tons by 2026, growing at a rate of 0.1% each year. This is slightly higher than the growth seen since 2017, which was 1.4% year-on-year. In 2021, Ukraine was ranked 18th in the world when it came to wheat consumption, with Japan overtaking them with 5.2 million metric tons. India, the United States, and Pakistan were ranked second, third, and fourth, respectively. Meanwhile, Ukrainian wheat production is set to reach 31.6 million metric tons by 2026, with a yearly growth rate of 1.6%. Since 1997, production has increased by 2% annually. Canada overtook Ukraine in 2021, with 28.8 million metric tons. India, Russia, and the United States were ranked second, third, and fourth in the world, respectively.
