Algeria's consumption of barley is projected to rise to around 630,000 metric tons by 2026, up 1.1 percent year on year. In 2021, the country ranked fourth in consumption, with 589,000 metric tons, while India topped the list with the same volume. Morocco, India and Algeria were in second, third and fourth place in the ranking, respectively. Meanwhile, Algeria's production of barley is forecast to reach 2 million metric tons by 2026, up 2.1 percent year on year. In 2021, the country was 18th in production, with 1.77 million metric tons, Romania taking the lead with the same amount. France, Germany and Canada came in second, third and fourth in the ranking, respectively.
