Americans' barley consumption is on the decline. In 2021, it is estimated that 69,000 metric tons of barley will be consumed, 24.2% lower than in 2020. This marks a 28.4% decrease from 2017. Meanwhile, American barley production is projected to fall 2.9% year on year on average from 2021 to 2026. This follows a 5.3% year on year decrease since 1966.
