Mauritania's barley consumption is expected to grow by 1.8% a year on average, reaching 2,300 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country had 2,000 tons of barley consumption, ranking it 67th in the world. Lebanon was ahead of Mauritania at 2,000 metric tons, while Morocco, India and Algeria were numbers two, three and four respectively in the ranking. Mauritania's barley production is set to reach 1,690 metric tons by 2026, up 0.9% on average year-on-year. Since 1966, the country's barley supply has grown at an annual rate of 2.3%. In 2021, Mauritania was 91st in the world with 1,600 metric tons of barley, while Western Sahara was ahead at 1,600 metric tons. France, Germany and Canada were numbers two, three and four in the ranking respectively.
