Slovene barley production is expected to reach around 115,000 metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of 1.7% annually since 1997. The country ranked 61st in 2021, with South Korea surpassing them with 104,210 metric tons. France, Germany and Canada ranked second, third and fourth respectively. In 2018, Slovenia consumed around five thousand metric tons of barley, a slight increase from the same time the previous year. The country ranked 53rd in this regard, with Ireland leading at five thousand metric tons. Morocco, India and Algeria followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
