Canada's pig production is forecast to reach 3.8 million heads by 2026, up 0.6% per year from 2021. The country ranked ninth in 2021 with 3.6 million heads. Mexico was first with the same number of heads, followed by the United States Virgin Islands, Brazil and Spain. Canadian pork consumption is expected to reach 927,400 tonnes by 2026, a 0.5% annual increase from 906,000 tonnes in 2021. Since 2017, Canadian demand for pork has risen by 1.3% annually.
