Pig Production in India is expected to decrease by 1.4% in 2021. This follows a downward trend since 1966, when the production rate was 1.9% lower than the current rate. India is currently ranked 20th in global pig production, with 1,612,600 heads. Thailand, with 1,755,800 heads, is at the top of the ranking. The United States Virgin Islands, Brazil, and Spain are placed second, third, and fourth, respectively. Pork Consumption in India is projected to drop by 2.3% in 2021. This follows a downward trend since 2017, when the consumption rate was 2.2% lower than the current rate. As of 2021, 241 thousand metric tons of pork are consumed in India.
