The country ranked 18th in 2021, with Indonesia overtaking it to reach 2.1 million heads. The United States Virgin Islands, Brazil and Spain ranked respectively 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Pork consumption in Italy is projected to increase 0.9% year on year, to 2.8 million metric tons in 2026. The demand has been growing at a rate of 0.3% since 2017.
