Portugal's bauxite import is set to increase slightly over the next five years, growing 0.9% year on year on average. In 2021, the country ranked 23rd, with 263.91 thousand metric tons imported. This was just behind Denmark's 263.91 thousand metric tons. Spain, Ireland, and France came in second, third and fourth place respectively. Exports, however, are expected to decline, falling by 1.1% year on year. Portugal was 26th in 2021, with 107.36 thousand metric tons exported, just behind Finland's 107.36 thousand metric tons. Ireland, the Netherlands, and France rounded out the top four. Since 2000, Portuguese bauxite supply has grown 1.7% year on year.
