In the past two years, growth rates were modest, with a 1.78% increase in 2022 followed by a 1.46% rise in 2023. The compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the last five years stands at 3.29%, indicating a steady but moderate upward trend.
Looking ahead through forecasted data from 2024 onwards, pesticide use is expected to continue its gradual increase, reaching 3.76 kilograms per hectare by 2028. The forecasted five-year CAGR drops to 1.21%, suggesting a slower growth rate compared to the previous five years. Future trends to watch for include the impact of governmental regulations on pesticide approvals, advancements in sustainable agricultural practices, and potential shifts towards organic farming that may further influence pesticide usage patterns in Egypt.
