Taiwan's sugar production is expected to plummet by almost 40% over the next five years, according to recent figures. Since 1966, the country's supply has declined by nearly 7% each year. In 2021, Taiwan ranked 87th, with Azerbaijan overtaking it at 28,450 metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and China came in second, third and fourth place, respectively. By 2026, Taiwan's sugar production is projected to reach just 1,980 metric tons.
