Japan's sugar production is set to reach just over 700,000 metric tons by 2026. That's a 0.5% drop from 2021's 727,000 metric tons. Since 1966, the country's production has grown 1.4% each year. In 2021, Japan ranked 30th in global sugar production. Belarus came in ahead with 727,000 metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and China were the second, third and fourth largest producers, respectively.
