Senegalese sugar production is on the rise. Over the course of the last four decades, production has grown an average of 1.1 percent every year. By 2026, output is expected to reach around 142,000 metric tons. In 2021, Senegal was the 66th largest producer, producing 132,000 metric tons. Cameroon surpassed Senegal this year, while Brazil, Thailand and China came in second, third and fourth, respectively.
