Sugar production in Guatemala is on the rise. This year, it is expected to reach 3.3 million metric tons, up 1.4% from 2021. Since 1966, the country's sugar output has grown by an average of 2.6% each year. Guatemala ranked 12th in terms of production in 2021. Germany surpassed it, with 3.1 million metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and China placed second, third and fourth, respectively.
