Sugar production in Panama is set to reach 175,100 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, the country produced 172,060 metric tons of sugar, a slight 0.3% increase from the previous year. This marks the first year-on-year growth since 1966, as Panama's production had been steadily declining since then. Panama currently ranks 60th in sugar production, behind Nepal, which produced 172,060 metric tons in 2021. Brazil, Thailand and China rank second, third and fourth, respectively.
