Sugar production in the Netherlands is on the rise. In 2021, the country produced 1.4 million metric tons of sugar, up 6.4% from the year before. It was ranked 23rd in the world, behind Vietnam, Brazil, Thailand and China. Growth is expected to continue in the coming years, with an average rate of 1.3% each year. By 2026, the country is projected to produce 1.5 million metric tons of sugar.
