Moldavian sugar production is expected to reach 130,000 metric tons by 2026. This is an increase of about 5% since 1997. In 2021, Moldova was in 68th place in terms of sugar production, with Italy leading the way at 127,630 metric tons. Brazil, Thailand and China were the next biggest producers, in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively.
