Azerbaijani sugar production is set to rise in the next five years. By 2026, output is forecast to reach around 35,500 metric tons, a 3% increase on an annual basis. Since 2008, the country has seen a 7.2% average annual growth in its sugar production. In 2021, Azerbaijan was the 86th largest producer in the world with 29,700 metric tons. It was overtaken by Chad. Brazil, Thailand and China were the top three producers in that ranking.
