Container traffic in India is set to soar. In 2021, the country ranked 10th in the world, with 17.3 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs). By 2026, this is expected to reach nearly 21 million TEUs, an average annual growth of 2.7%. Since 2005, the demand has risen annually by 7.5%. The United Arab Emirates topped the rankings in 2021, with 17.3 million TEUs, followed by the United States, Singapore and South Korea in second, third and fourth place respectively.
