Qatar is set to see its container traffic volume increase in the coming years. By 2026, the traffic volume is estimated to reach nearly 1.85 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units, up from 1.48 million in 2021. This is a 3.5% year-on-year growth rate. Since 2012, the country has seen its container traffic rise at a rate of 17.2% year-on-year. Qatar currently ranks 55th in the world, overtaken by Kenya in 2021 with 1.48 million Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units. The US, Singapore and South Korea are ranked second, third and fourth respectively.
