Exports of sheep from Britain are expected to rise to around £26 million by 2026. This is an increase of 2.3% year-on-year, following an average growth of 4.3% since 1998. In 2021, the UK was in eighth place globally, with exports of £23 million. France was the biggest exporter at £29 million, followed by Spain, Australia and Jordan. Imports of sheep to Britain soared to £141 million in 2018, up 54.1% from the year before. On average, imports rose 36.7% year-on-year since 1998. The UK was ranked 43rd globally in 2018, with Mongolia leading the way at £188 million. Qatar, Kuwait and Israel were in the top four.
