On a brighter note, Italian fish consumption is set to rise. By 2028, consumption is expected to reach nearly 358,000 metric tons, up from about 343,000 metric tons in 2023. This growth translates to an average annual increase of 0.7%. Since 2019, the demand for fish in Italy has been on a steady rise, growing at a rate of 0.9% per year.
