Leading the global ranking were Indonesia, India, and Bangladesh, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. Meanwhile, fish consumption in Portugal is projected to hit roughly 90,600 thousand metric tons by 2028, an increase from about 85,200 thousand metric tons in 2023. This marks an average annual growth rate of 1%. Since 2019, Portuguese fish demand has risen by 1.4% each year.
