In the global rankings for 2023, Croatia holds the 54th position, with Tunisia slightly ahead, producing around 27,600 metric tons. Leading the rankings are Indonesia, India, and Bangladesh, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. On the consumption front, Croatian fish consumption is expected to decline slightly. By 2028, it is set to reach roughly 34,900 metric tons, down from about 35,900 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 0.4%. Since 2019, the country's fish demand has been dropping at an annual rate of 0.6%.
