Cambodian fish production is projected to surge to approximately 642,000 metric tons by 2028, up from around 462,000 metric tons in 2023. This marks an average annual growth rate of 5.2%. Since 1981, the country's fish supply has seen an impressive annual increase of 12.7%. In 2023, Cambodia ranked 17th in global fish production, with Iran slightly ahead, producing about 462,000 metric tons. Leading the ranking were Indonesia, India, and Bangladesh, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively. On the consumption front, Cambodian fish consumption is expected to remain stable, reaching roughly 7,880 metric tons by 2028, virtually unchanged from 7,910 metric tons in 2023. Since 2019, fish demand in Cambodia has seen a slight annual decrease of 0.8%.
