Since 1991, the country’s fish supply has increased by an average of 15.4% per year. As of 2023, Saudi Arabia ranked 32nd globally in fish production, with Greece surpassing it by producing the same amount of 147,000 metric tons. Leading the global rankings are Indonesia, India, and Bangladesh, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. Conversely, Saudi fish consumption is anticipated to decline over the next few years. By 2028, consumption is expected to drop to about 108,000 metric tons from roughly 117,000 metric tons in 2023, marking an average annual decrease of 1.3%. Since 2019, the country's fish demand has decreased by an average of 1.4% per year.
