Egyptian shrimp import is soaring, with 15.9 million kilograms predicted by 2026. This is up from 13.8 million kilograms in 2021, growing at an average rate of 2.4% year on year. Since 2002, demand has jumped 8.7% year on year, placing Egypt in 19th place in 2021, with Morocco ahead on 13.8 million kilograms. China, Spain and Japan are in second, third and fourth place, respectively. In contrast, in 2018 Egyptian shrimp exports totalled 95,490 kilograms, down 20.5% from the previous year.
