The global shrimp export market is set to reach 3 billion kilograms by 2026, up from 2.7 billion kilograms in 2021, according to a year-on-year growth rate of 1.9%. Since 2017, global shrimp supply has increased by 5.7% annually. India led the ranking in 2021 with 663 million kilograms. Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia were the next three countries in the ranking. Cameroon experienced a dramatic 506.6% year-on-year growth, while Jordan decreased by 41.5% since 2017. Meanwhile, global shrimp imports are projected to reach 2.2 billion kilograms by 2026, up from 2.03 billion kilograms in 2021, with an annual growth rate of 1.2%. Demand for global shrimp has increased by 4.1% since 2017. The US was number one in global shrimp imports in 2021, with 573 million kilograms. China, Spain and Japan were the next three countries in the ranking. Nicaragua saw a 331.6% year-on-year growth, while Burundi decreased by 41% since 2017.
