Import and export of shrimp in the United Arab Emirates is expected to rise in the coming years. In 2021, the UAE is projected to import 64.9 million kilograms of shrimp, while exporting 18.4 million kilograms. This is an increase of 3.7% and 3.9% respectively, compared to the previous year. Since 2012, the annual growth rate of imports has been 9.2%, while exports have increased by 8.6%. China, Spain and Japan are the top three importers, while Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia are the leading exporters of shrimp to the UAE.
