The export of British shrimps is forecast to decline by 5.1% year on year on average, reaching 4.9 million kilograms by 2026. This is down from 6.6 million kilograms in 2021 and a 3.8% decline since 1998. In 2021, Madagascar was the top exporter with 6.6 million kilograms, followed by Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia. Meanwhile, British imports of shrimps are expected to increase by 0.6% year on year on average, reaching 46.4 million kilograms by 2026. This is up from 44.6 million kilograms in 2021 and a 1.1% increase since 1998. In 2021, the Netherlands was the top importer with 44.6 million kilograms, followed by China, Spain and Japan.
