Chilean shrimp exports fell 1.7% in 2021, dropping to 44,490 kilograms from 45,260 kilograms the year prior. Since 1996, exports have decreased by nearly 30%. Chile ranked 71st in 2021, while Ivory Coast topped the list at 44,490 kilograms. Ecuador, Argentina and Indonesia took the next three spots. Chilean shrimp imports are expected to reach 7 million kilograms by 2026, up from 5.9 million kilograms in 2021. This is a 3.1% year-on-year increase, and a 5% jump since 1996. Kuwait led the list in 2021, with 5.9 million kilograms. China, Spain and Japan followed.
